Josip Heindlhofer founded a soap factory in Sušak in 1884. Andrija Rački in its "History of the city Sušak" wrote that Soap factory Heindlhofer was working along the Lujzijana road between 1885 and 1890.
The factory began its work at the same time or a few years earlier than soap factory Levi & Bianchi which was located on the other side of the river. The factory was located in Ružić street, very close to the former Tannery Simonić - Bakarčić .
